More information will be available as
season begins.
Established in the 1990's, this University of Wyoming High Plains Educational
Project includes the Archaeology museum at 2nd and Pine Street and the
actual Archaeology dig which is located west of the Pine Bluffs Rest Area.
The museum houses artifacts taken from the dig site area and walks the
visitor thru the history of the area. The archaeologists at the dig site
show visitors how the artifacts are uncovered and explains how each artifact
is handled after it is found. There is a concrete pathway from the Rest
Area to the dig site for those who enjoy some exercise after a long journey.
The excavation site is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day 9a.m.
- 5p.m., 7 days a week.
